Nationwide Lockdown to commence on July 17 says president of South Africa-Ramaphosa

The president of south Africa has made an official statement ordering total lockdown preceding the violent protests on the arrest of Jacob Zuma.
It will be a total lockdown in the Country. Shops, school, businesses are advices to observe strict closures. Only essential services will be allowed.
 
The president has declared July 17 as the commencement of the national lockdown in other to curb civil unrest in the country.

The president has urged South Africans to stay at he for a better South Africa. He listed a series of demands which he said are non-negotiable.

Movement of people

All persons are advised to stay at their home from 21:00 - 04:00, exception of a case of emergencies or if they are essential workers.
Travels in and out of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng remains banned from tomorrow July 17, this applies except in case of emergencies.

Travel
Public transport facilities should stop operations with immediate effect.

Schools
Schools and other institutions of higher education will be closed for contact classes from 17 July including early childhood development centers.

Public
All gatherings are prohibited except buying goods or services or in case of emergency
